Klabin’s Sustainability Policy

Klabin S.A is a company that produces timber, packaging paper and board, corrugated packaging and sacks. It operates on the domestic and international markets and predicates its operations on the following principles of sustainability to all activities related to its products and services:

To pursue competitive quality, aiming at sustained improvement of its results, by researching, developing and enhancing continuously existing and new processes, products and services, to meet the expectations of customers, employees, shareholders, the community and suppliers and other stakeholders.

Encourage collaboration with customers, suppliers, academia and other interesting parties in pursuit of innovation for products and processes, as well as improvements in value chain.

Ensure appreciation of forest base by transforming it into sustainable and competitive products.

Ensure supply of wood planted to its industrial units, in a sustainable way, without harming related natural ecosystems, in own operations and producers under development programs.

Practice and encourage recycling of cellulose fibers in its production chain.

Avoid and prevent pollution by reducing environmental impacts related to wastewater, solid waste and air emissions, considering constantly these two elements in the maintenance and improvement of productive processes, development and enhancement of products, forest and logistic operations, monitoring of critical suppliers due to economic and social and environmental aspects.

Strive to apply more efficient and modern engineering technologies and solutions in the implementation of new projects, protecting human health, natural resources and the environment.

Encourage personal and professional growth of its employees and seek continuous improvement of work, health and safety conditions.

Encourage a culture of dissemination of ethics and develop best corporate governance practices.

Follow United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and guide its actions and investments to strengthen this agenda, acting propositionally in favor of positive social and environmental development in places where it operates.
