Klabin participates in graduation ceremonies for over 1,000 PROERD students

Since Klabin joined the program in October, five more cities in the state were included: Correia Pinto, Lages, Otacílio Costa, Palmeira and Ponte Alta

Santa Catarina, December 15, 2016 – Klabin, Brazil's largest paper producer and exporter, and the leading manufacturer of paper and board for packaging, corrugated board packaging and industrial bags, sponsors and fully supports the Educational Program to Combat Drug Use (PROERD).On December 5 and 7, the company participated in two of the project’s graduation ceremonies held in Lages and Otacílio Costa in the state of Santa Catarina, which involved a total of 1,479 children age nine or ten enrolled in municipal, state and private elementary schools.

Since Klabin joined the program in October, five more cities in the state were included: Correia Pinto, Lages, Otacílio Costa, Palmeira and Ponte Alta.Today, the initiative draws on support from the Klabin Units in the cities of Correia Pinto, Otacílio Costa, Lages and Florestal 

Klabin believes the initiative is of vital social importance and is pleased to contribute to this cause, which is so important and gives backs to society, since it warns and prepares children, teens and adults about the challenges related to resisting drugs and violence. 

With 18 years in Santa Catarina, PROERD works to warn and raise awareness among students up to age ten about preventing drug use and has already offered guidance to 1,200,000 people since its implementation in the state.
