Project to Expand Monte Alegre (MA1100)

Project to expand production in the Monte Alegre Plant (MA-1100)

Project MA-1100 is underway in Klabin’s Monte Alegre Plant in Telemaco Borba, Parana, where production capacity of paper and boards will be raised from 700 thousand tons/year to 1.1 million tons/year. The company will invest around R$ 2.2 billion in the expansion. The project will place the Monte Alegre Plant, currently Brazil’s biggest paper mill, among the ten biggest paper mills in the world, and Klabin will be the sixth largest manufacturer of virgin-fiber boards worldwide.

Expansion Project MA-1100 will not only increase the company’s production capacity, but it will also put the company in an excellent position in the global market, with highly competitive production and distribution costs, not to mention its historic commitment to sustainable development.
