Rules and Policy of Conduct in relations with suppliers
It is of vital importance to Klabin to safeguard standards of conduct while continuously improving supplier relations. To this end, the company obeys a Code of Ethics, which should be present at all times in all contacts with suppliers:
On compliance with the law
Comply with all laws and regulations which are applicable to our operations.
On commercial ethics
Commercial relations.
Dealings with suppliers must be guided by commercial practice which is fair and upstanding in terms of free competition with regard to quality, price, delivery terms and service, as well as complying with the law and other regulations which are in force.
Conflict of interest
No employee of Klabin may receive presents, loans or special favors from suppliers with whom Klabin has commercial relations. Frequently, a kind offer conceals compromising tactics, with the intention of obtaining special favors.
Klabin employees must not seek personal gains or advantages for themselves or others, by abusing their position in the organization.
On confidentiality
It is considered to be a penal and administrative infraction to make use of information which is privileged or of a restricted nature within Klabin in benefit of oneself or a third party.
Klabin expects its employees and suppliers to communicate any violation of these principles to the Ombudsman. Within the legal limits that are applicable, the anonymity of the employee or supplier and confidentiality of the case will be guaranteed.
