Klabin´s Purchasing department is responsible for the handling of all commercial dealings between the Group’s companies and their suppliers, predicated on the concept of supply chain, and whilst constantly striving for high standards of quality and ethical conduct.
The Mission of Klabin’s Purchasing Department, represented by its Strategic Supply Management (SSM), is to:
- Introduce, develop and practice at the highest levels the concept of supply chain in all activities involving materials and purchasing.
- Motivate and recognize the creative efforts of our workforce in an attempt to reduce costs.
Aligned with our belief in an unrelenting quest for high standards in Quality, SSM is also focused on:
- Developing new national and international sources of supply.
- Negotiating agreements and corporate contracts for the supply of materials and services.
- Coordinating the process of implanting an electronic purchasing system with qualified suppliers.
- Motivating small and medium-sized companies to participate more as suppliers.
- Building synergy with the Production, Sales and Logistics departments.
- Promoting alternatives for materials and raw material.
- Integrating the following areas in the negotiation process: Financial, Fiscal and Legal.
- Coordinating and carrying out import processes.
- Coordinating the activities of Stock Management for maintenance materials.
- Keeping the specifications of purchased materials up-to-date.
- Striving to give ongoing training to our Purchasing professionals.
