Right Step Program

The Right Step Program, run at the Vera Lafer Cultural Center in Klabin’s Monte Alegre Plant, is dedicated to cultural and educational activities. It helps in the education of company employees’ children, who are between 6 and 17 years old, so that they can make a difference in their social environment.
Right Step comprises classical and contemporary dance activities for girls and capoeira martial arts for boys. With these classes, participants cultivate such values as respect, friendship and companionship.

The actions also help to consolidate the practice of citizenship, to surmount difficulties and challenges and to stimulate team spirit. Students also increase their abilities of concentration, agility, resistance, body control and attention.
Since the beginning of the Program in August 2008, 186 children have taken part in these activities. As of the second half of 2009, Right Step is starting classical dance sessions for Klabin’s female employees.
