The goal for control of emissions to the atmosphere is to reduce both the particulates, SOx, CO, NOx, and the odors from pulp production. NGC (Non-condensable Gases) gas incinerators were installed in the plants of Correia Pinto and Otacilio Costa, in Santa Catarina, and Telemaco Borba, in Parana, with 99.99% efficiency. Recently, a R$ 13 million investment was made in the rebuild of the recovery boiler’s electrostatic precipitator in Telemaco Borba, with the objective of reducing the current concentration of particulate materials from 350 to less than 100 mg/Nm3 to meet the requirements of Resolution SEMA 41/PR.
