BOD and COD
Klabin is working to reduce emissions of BOD and COD. In December of 2004, the Telemaco Borba unit came on stream with a biological reactor using state-of-the-art technology (Floobed) which produced results of BOD 60% below the limit stipulated by the state’s environmental body. In the Angatuba plant, the installation of a fiber recovery unit on the paper machine significantly improved the quality of the final effluent.
