Klabin’s strategic goals are to create sustained value for all of its stakeholders - shareholders, customers, suppliers and communities – and to consolidate its leadership in the markets where it operates. It is an integrated producer, thus guaranteeing the raw material supply for production of packaging paper and paper-made packaging, as well as assuring the quality of its products.

Forestry

Klabin owns 431 thousand hectares of forested areas, of which 175 thousand hectares in native forests and 215 thousand hectares of planted forests. Practically 100% of its forests are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), considered to be the most respected organization in sustainability in the world.

The basis of Klabin’s production is the wood which comes from the planted forests of pines and eucalyptus, the plantations of which are intermingled with preserved native forests in a mosaic pattern. The forestry area guarantees the supply of raw material, wood, for the pulp production, which in turn is the basis for the paper and board production, sold by Klabin, as well as the supply of kraftliner to the converting plants of corrugated packaging.

Besides using the wood in the pulp production process, Klabin also delivers logs to sawmills and laminators in the domestic market, which in turn are exported in the form of sawn wood, fencing, moldings, plywood, sheets, glued beams and garden panels.

Paper

Klabin is the biggest producer and exporter of packaging paper in the country. The cartonboard business is evidence of Klabin’s high technology, focused on the development of higher added-value products. Klabin has four Units manufacturing paper, located in Angatuba (SP), Correia Pinto (SC), Otacilio Costa (SC) and Telemaco Borba (PR).

The kraftliner produced by the Units is sold both on the export and domestic markets and also used to keep the company’s corrugated packaging units supplied. The entire supply chain is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which is considered to be the most respected organization in the world with regard to sustainability.

Packaging

Klabin is the leader in the Brazilian sector of Corrugated Board packaging and has the biggest production capacity in the domestic market. Boxes developed by Klabin are destined for all segments of the economy and provide total protection for the products transported in them and are also used as displays in the principal retail shops of the country.

The paper used in box conversion is all manufactured by the company, thereby making certain that there is an unbroken chain of supply, quality and control throughout the production process.

Industrial Sacks

Klabin enjoys leadership of the domestic market for industrial sacks. Civil Construction (cement bags) and agribusiness (sacks for seeds) are the main consuming markets.

The Unit is noted for always being ahead of the competition in its sector, and continually promoting technological modernization programs in its industrial plants. It is held up to be an example in innovative development of industrial sacks, and offers customers solutions with superior quality packaging, of greater strength and at a lower cost.
